Prophetic Perspective
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah
29:11 NIV
As I have traveled nearly 300,000 miles this year I have seen fear and
anxiety on many faces. During the last year “bad news” seemed to be
coming from everywhere. All you had to do was open your internet browser
or turn on cable news and you could get immersed in a cesspool of agony,
gloom, and despair. I found myself getting caught up in the emotions of
world events and breaking news. One night while I was watching the last
presidential debate, The Lord spoke these words to my heart: “What you
eat determines what you dream.” He was right. My dreams were becoming
a little bit distorted because I was eating from the table of fear and
frustration instead of feeding my faith with the faithfulness of God. I was
partaking from the plate of preferences and pettiness instead of sitting at
the table of peace and promise. If you constantly eat from the table of
negativity you will have a negative perspective of your world and your
future.
A few days later during my quiet time I heard the Holy Spirit say: “Do
you see what I see? I want you to look through the lens of love and get a
proper perspective. Do you hear what I hear? Press your ear into My heart
so that you can listen through the filter of faith. Do not judge people by their
history but rather point them to their destiny. Do not fear what is to come
because I hold your future and the future of the nations in My hands.”
Perspective really is everything! I believe that we are the verge of another
great awakening not only here in America but around the world. I want to
see the world around me through the eyes and heart of Jesus!
Thank You Lord for your faithful reminders!
